Be Still - Poem

Sit down for a moment and be still.

Take your mind from the window sill.

Take a breath and don't let it get real.

Life is your own, it agrees to your own deal.

Shake your skin like a banana peel.

Just to see some things aren't real.

We're simply beings with all the possibilities in the world.

Right in front of us, just reach for it.

You're called to be you, not them.

You're worth is not dependent on fame.

Even if people don't remember your name.

The question is who will you blame?

Cause if you did your best, you can rest your claim.

It's just a fact sometimes they're lame.

Live and be true.

Live and be you.

Take risks, but be responsible.

Be spontaneous, not to be confused with absent mindedness.

It's just a balance, but it's our balance.

Meant for nobody else.

Get your own tightrope.

Sharing isn't caring when its another's existence as a bargain.

Throw the chips down, worth is found just as much in a clown.

As another who would drown.

Even those who wear a crown.

Or one with a permanent frown.

We're all who we are, but we try not to be.

Those who offend themselves never offend anyone else.

Never a truth, but just as easy to believe.

Better that than to roll up a sleeve.
